Playing the game: |
Just enter the name you wish your hero to be called and select a portrait. Other players will recognize you in the game by this image and your character's name. Finally you must determine the starting attributes of your character. If you are not familiar with the game yet, it's a good strategy to set every values equally. Alternatively, you may want to select a preset from the dropdown list. |
First Step: |
When you first enter the world of Larkinor you will find yourself at your home. (It's worth taking the weapon you will find in your house!) If you move the mouse cursor over the icons, your browser will show what each icon is good for. You may also want to check the Quick Guide for an explanations of basic controls of the game. If you leave your home, you will be in the novice quarter of the town. Walking around in the city of Larkinor and the surrounding areas you will encounter other players and the enemy creatures (monsters) of the island. You can develop your character's different skills by fighting these monsters. You will gain Experience Points when you defeat a monster, collecting enough of which, your character's Experience Level will rise and you will get more powerful. You will find items carried by defeated enemies. You can sell them for silvers in the stores or at the marketplace. At the beginning, this is the main source of money. For money, you can buy other items or take advantage of the services of other buildings. For instance, in the palace you can buy a bigger home, you can learn to make magic in the mage tower, or you can just squander your money in the casino. |
Controls: |
To keep the game's user interface compact only the most often used actions are displayed with shortcut icons (e.g. move, enter and leave buildings, attack, inventory, rest, etc.). Other, more scarcely used actions can be executed by selecting them from a pull-down menu and pressing the Ok button with your left mouse button: You can eat food rations, use special objects, cast some spells and push Panic Button - using the latter one you can escape when you get stuck (reviving in your home). |
NOTING: Press the 'Help Button' in the upper right corner for more help.
